About WYSIWYGHome.com

Christian WYSIWYG Filmworks was founded on April 9,1995. When Pastor Richard Gazowsky received a confirming prophetic word that they were to develop a Christian film company to bring the presence of God to the people of the world through entertainment. There are now 35 cast members that have faithfully committed to this vision and this blog is designed to share daily their struggles and victories in following God to bring this vision to pass.

In 2007 a film was made about Christian WYSIWYG Filmworks journey. Michael Jacob’s, the director is Jewish, and claimed that he was an atheist but recently after shooting this movie he said he would more accurately call himself an agnostic. Below is a trailer from that film.

  • John,

I don’t know the answer, but the Scripture that the Lord gave me was John 1: 35-39.

  • Dear WYSIWYG,
This is a long overdue letter. My name is Jay Peters and I am an Associate Pastor and Christian filmmaker in Chicago with New Life Assembly. Formerly I was involved with your film festival under our Film Ministry Alleyway Studios. We participated in your festivals for a few years and won some awards. As time moved on I began to see some disturbing aspects in some of the films in the festival that were supposedly “Christian”, but for the most part I ignored it as I was busy with our own projects and trusted the judgement of the leadership of your ministry.
That all changed when I saw (this goes back a couple years) that you had chosen “The diary of a Mad black woman” as the Christian film of the year I was appalled. How can a movie filled with profanity, sexual innuendo and the message of follow your heart (which is wicked Jer 17:9) even if that means divorce (yes God really like it when we divorce) even be considered Christian, let alone Christian film of the year. I contacted Chris on this matter and he said it was my opinion, I then watched the film in its entirety and tried to contact him again, but got no response. I then tried calling Pastor Richard, and did not get a call back. At this point I became frustrated and felt like I was getting nowhere and I will pray for repentance of this compromise.
As of now my conscience is still troubling me and I felt it necessary to address this again in a letter and my hope is your views have changed and that you no longer endorse such an ungodly movie. Pastor Richard you know better, I have read thru your book and your conscience should be screaming at you for allowing such trash to come into your church, worse off getting your approval. Maybe you should have never watched “The Lion King”. I am writing today to see where you stand with this as I want to let other Christian filmmakers know that they should not participate in this festival as it only distorts the gospel of Christ. When we make Christian films, they should be Christian, “Facing the Giants” or “Flywheel” are great examples. I pray that you have changed, it is not my intention to bring discredit to your ministry, but I will let the body of Christ know where you stand on your moral convictions. I look forward to your response.
    In Christ,
    Jay Peters
Associate Pastor of New Life Assembly
